چکیده

In this paper we consider a mathematical program with second-order cone complementarity constraints (SOCMPCC). The SOCMPCC generalizes the mathematical program with complementarity constraints (MPCC) in replacing the set of nonnegative reals by a second-order cone. We show that if the SOCMPCC is considered as an optimization problem with convex cone constraints, then Robinson’s constraint qualification never holds. We derive explicit formulas for the regular and limiting normal cone of the second-order complementarity cone. Using these formulas we derive explicit expressions for the strong-, Mordukhovichand Clarke(S-, Mand C-) stationary conditions and show that they are necessary optimality conditions under certain constraint qualifications. We have also shown that the classical KKT condition is in general not equivalent to the S-stationary condition unless the dimension of each second-order cone is not more than 2. Moreover we show that reformulating an MPCC as an SOCMPCC produces new and weaker necessary optimality conditions.

First-order Optimality Conditions for Mathematical Programs with Second-order Cone Complementarity

In this paper we consider a mathematical program with second-order cone complementarity constraints (SOCMPCC). The SOCMPCC generalizes the mathematical program with complementarity constraints (MPCC) in replacing the set of nonnegative reals by second-order cones. There are difficulties in applying the classical Karush–Kuhn–Tucker (KKT) condition to the SOCMPCC directly since the usual constrai...

First order optimality conditions for mathematical programs with semidefinite cone complementarity constraints

In this paper we consider a mathematical program with semidefinite cone complementarity constraints (SDCMPCC). Such a problem is a matrix analogue of the mathematical program with (vector) complementarity constraints (MPCC) and includes MPCC as a special case. We first derive explicit formulas for the proximal and limiting normal cone of the graph of the normal cone to the positive semidefinite...

The Theory of 2-regularity for Mappings with Lipschitzian Derivatives and Its Applications to Optimality Conditions

We study local structure of a nonlinear mapping near points where standard regularity and/or smoothness assumptions need not be satisfied. We introduce a new concept of 2-regularity (a certain kind of second-order regularity) for a once differentiable mapping whose derivative is Lipschitz continuous. Under this 2-regularity condition, we obtain the representation theorem and the covering theore...

Smoothing method for mathematical programs with symmetric cone complementarity constraints

In this paper, we consider the mathematical program with symmetric cone complementarity constraints (MPSCCC) in a general form. It includes the mathematical program with second-order-cone complementarity constraints (MPSOCCC) and the mathematical program with complementarity constraints (MPCC). We present a smoothing method which approximates the primal MPSCCC by means of the ChenMangasarian cl...

Mathematical Programs with Vanishing Constraints: Optimality Conditions, Sensitivity, and a Relaxation Method

We consider a class of optimization problems with switch-off/switch-on constraints, which is a relatively new problem model. The specificity of this model is that it contains constraints that are being imposed (switched on) at some points of the feasible region, while being disregarded (switched off) at other points. This seems to be a potentially useful modeling paradigm, that has been shown t...
